Jasmine is flowering!

Oh happy day!

The jasmine at the front of the house is flowering! I weaved a bit more around the wire so it would stand up more, and oh the fragrance was lovely! So summer-y!

I took some off-cuts inside to put in a vase.

Shane Stephensen and Dan the draftsman came round this morning to see my house and discuss building needs,

and I have a day off tomorrow (for the Brisbane Ekka, which I am not attending)!

Note 18 Jan 2018: Just pulled out this jasmine as it died for some reason. What a shame.

Update: 16 Aug 2017:

It's the Ekka People's day. I am heavy a big rest day - no work, nothing. Just a bit here and there and plenty of sitting. No visiting. Just maybe get a pedicure and some more plastic stems from K Mart as they look quite good in this basket (below).

I feel very low and weary of it all. Hope I get my mo-jo back.

Sunday afternoon visitors

Cynthia and Doug visited on their way to Noosa. They have been my parents friends for 45 years.

We had coffee on my back verandah. It was pleasant. Anthony is home from Mt Isa, and en route to Cobar for a 6 year stint.

Other pets - fishies

Three goldy-fish (well, one is black, with a feathery tail).

St Magnus

Beautiful new statue on the grounds of the school. Sculpted by Rhyl Hinwood. Very Harry Potter-ish. St. Magnus of the Orkney Isles.

A lovely book

One of my favorite books in the school library - I would like to read it right through.

I want a dovecot too!
