My sidewalk is looking much better, not from anything the council has done though, in my opinion. Regular mowing has kept it very neat. Jo, my ex-neighbour said the grounds were 'a credit to you (me)'. I really appreciate hearing that.
It's gone from neglected and ratty-looking, uncared for, like this and this....
to this...
It's looking much more healthy, neat and tended. The white lines, I've discovered, are guide lines to indicate where the Energex power lines are, under-ground. I've applied to the Council for some free sidewalk trees - I asked for lilly-pillies, and I believe these guidelines are to help 'them' know where to plant the tree inserts and not have unfortunate contact with particularly important cables.
I'm looking forward to this. I applied via Charlie Pisasle's newsletter, offering trees to ratepayers. I spoke to a lovely man called Kim and he said they'd do it. He even let me suggest the type of plant I preferred. I asked for lilly-pillies. Cool. Let's see how it looks -
stay tuned.
