My darlings this weekend

Taffy won't let me work on the computer!

Chinese carved wooden bits

This site is good, plus a price idea.

Found a place for the Chinese carved window frame

American bloggers do this:

I've been researching this Chinese window screen, and this pattern seems to have been made around 1880-1940. It's persimmon, or fruit anyway.

Trimmed the outside fence

Used Mum's hedger to trim the bougainvillea, plumbagos and pink coral around the fence. Needs to be kept neat.

Spare bedroom

Getting organised in there. It's gone through a few incarnations, but I want this to be the almost final one. The 'final' one will be when the whole house is renovated. $$$

I think Taffy approves

This may not be the final arrangement of furniture in here...

Earlier...

Leopard lily seeds

They are self-seeding now. I am trying to gather as many seeds as I can so I can spread them round the garden, and maybe sell some!

This is how they were:
and the seed-pods now

Their seeds, when the pods open, are like bunches of blackberries, hence the name:

Blackberry Lily, Leopard Lily (Belamcanda chinensis)

I collected them in an envelope first then have put them on a plate to dry out, as per online instructions. Then will give some away.

Latest garden views 25 March, 2019

Blazing sunshine, 37 degrees C.

Still some parched lawn patches.

Garden mower-mulch on the beds, to slow down the moisture loss from the heat.

I have the luxury of some lovely shade in the afternoons.

Magpie visitor

37 degrees today - so hot. I am glad to see my tubs of water help the birdies.

Trimming the blakeana galpinni + updates

Bit of a trim as a branch had fallen low and it looked messy. I recall the time I wanted this creeper, and all the days I wished it would grow more quickly. Now, I'm trimming it!

This is the first real trim I have given it.

It is 3 years ago, today, that I decided I admired it so much, that I wanted one in my garden.

15 August 2020 - and here she is today, huge and gorgeous. I've had to try to tie her up t the fence to support her width-wise growth.
