It's done quite well from HERE, about a year ago. It takes a lot of water, that's for sure. Likes a drink.
It has reached the top of the fence in the centre, but I can hardly wait for whole fence panels to be covered.
I gave it a huge drink of Thrive fertiliser today. I'll take a pic in around a month's time to see how much extra progress it has been encouraged to make.
Update: 28 Oct 2017 - it's still on the way...
Update 8 Nov, 2017:
On my drive to work, I pass a wall which has what I believe is ficus pumila growing all over it. It looks great and I only hope my back fence looks as good when the pumila gets going - it's almost at the third ridge in my back fence, and I am well pleased with the progress.
Update 7 Dec 2017:
Almost touching the third ridge, but I will be happier when it is OVER the ridge,
and on the way out further.
That ficus above still has not gone over the third ridge. It's almost as though it won't do it, to spite me! I have no idea why it's avoiding that section.
However, I noticed this morning, some new baby leaves - so cute. The plants are spreading but of course, not fast enough for me. The bright new green is lovely.
Update: 11 Sept, 2018. Good heavens it is so slow growing, this one.
It's only the part next to the yellow line that has grown since last April.
Perhaps it's a not-enough-water issue?
At least the wee spider is making the most of his/her opportunities!
22 Nov 2018:
2 April 2019 - It has grown and spread a lot this season.
