Book-orchid buds opening....slowly...and FLOWER!

Beautiful light pink...

Update 4 Sept, 2017:

They're here! Flowered and opened on what would have been Dad's 87th birthday. RIP.

Here's Dad, well before he became ill and died, aged 80. I so wish he was still around to do things to the house for me. He would have loved doing them.

In memorium - Father's Day

Could not resist these plants today - the azalea for Dad for Father's Day. He would have been 86 tomorrow, too. The fern to remember John. It's called Silver lady. That would be Mum.

John is also remembered in my garden - here:

Ignore the weeds!

Father's Day dinner, Chinese, in Ipswich.

And here's me with Dad.
Me only about 2, and we are in a Melbourne park. He would have been about 29 yrs at the time.

Sunday afternoon vignettes

I moved this table from the lunge to outside, so I could have the Tibetan chest in the lounge - storing my placemats and chargers and stuff.

And all the colour in the garden!

New compost bin

John also put up my new garden bed which will become my new compost bin, with an old blanket as a cover for wormies to dig under and through.

Aaannnd, finally, the ceremonial compost entry - the first! Happy Father's Day, John, and thanks!

A tidy space

John helped put up the new umbrella this arvie. It looks nice - makes it look like a proper sitting space.
