Affixing extra lattice

That DIMS idiot, Steve and his quite pleasant wife Carla came around this morning to attach the extra lattice to my pergola. I wasn't expecting him to bring her, but she was non-offensive, and quite a bit more sensible than he. They attached the extra lattice which I had bought at Bunnings the night before. I also had a couple of plastic gum-leaf patterned pieces which we put up as a temporary privacy shield, to hide the boxes from the unpacking of the container.

This place is going to look worse before it gets better.

All affixed - what a hodge-podge! I took the bird cages down, which tidied things up a bit, and have yet to re-affix the wisteria so it grows all over the pergola and covers a multitude of sins!

Lots of rain this weekend!

It rained for a whole night and half a day. Lovely, and good for the garden. We need more but, things should green up a bit now. Which means more mowing of course.

Loretta Piotrowski (Clean Cut Lawn Services, aka Mike and Loretta) christened my front garden 'Serenity Gardens'. This I like, and hereby name them thus.

Under the pergola

Yes, it looks a mess, but less of a mess than it did when round the other end of the house. I feel that I can control this a bit better. Control it's dispersal, I mean.

Emptying the container

I paid Mike and Loretta $300 for helping me do this. Mum made lunch. The whole preparation for the week exhausted me, and I have felt out of action for three days - no herbs left (writing this on 17 March).
They worked so well - it only took from 7 am to 9.50 to finish unloading. I knew what was what and where I wanted it too, which I suppose helped.

Mum made lovely salad rolls for them, and I had the evening before gone shopping to get the supplies for these and cans of drink. It was great weather up till late afternoon when it rained, so I was well pleased with the timing of all.
