Shiplap

I think I'd like some as a feature on the inside walls at some stage in some places.

Scones for the workers - the front door goes on.

I bought a packet mix of scones on the weekend to treat the builders this morning. Made them and they turned out ok, although I had rolled the dough too low on most, and the oven is very hot, so the bottoms were all burnt. I served up the tops with lashings of butter and apricot jam.

The front doors go on. They reckon (Rick, the foreman said) they will be finished this week, which is good as I can't stand having strangers around all day, although of course I am grateful for what they are doing. It's not fab, it won't win any design awards, but I hope the extra space will be useful.

Nick from Strybos Electricians (left, under curtain) is here to put in cables and such, for the lights and future appliances.

Sean putting up cladding near the front doors. I want an awning outside/over the front door.

New bits over the extra verandah. I should have had it all enclosed as part of the house, really.

Above, future foyer of front of house.
