All around the neighbourhood, the blakeanas are flowering, as is mine.
There are seed pods as well, to be seen. I am going to get some of other colours this year and try growing them.

This has been hanging in the tree for a long time, but thought I would show it. It helps give the garden a mature feel.
21 Sept, 2021: Another bunch, given me from Jeanette and Bernie -
So, the palms are tall enough now to be interacting with bigger trees, like the blakeana here. So thrilling to be at this stage of the garden's growth. It has taken such a long time.
At last! Just two days ago, I was watering the garden, looking at the stick branches of this plant and thinking, oh well, it will be late September before we see anything happening.
Lo! Yesterday afternoon, when I was watering again, I noticed little green buds and tiny leaves emerging. So good to see. It obviously flowers from the old wood. I am trying to keep it to a rounded shape.
I think this came as an infant from the Council supplier last year, but it has grown quite a bit over winter and is now flowering! I am so pleased and I look forward to shaping it into what it is to become, in the garden at the back.
The first pic was taken about three days ago, when there was one flower. Yesterday, when I was watering, I noticed extra flowers! There are certainly lots of buds.
