First sweet peas

So happy to see these flower, finally. And the red was first!

1 Oct 2019 -

7 Oct 2019 -  burgundy colour now -

15 Oct 2019 -  Pretty cerise colour. They seem a bit restrained. I reckon they need fertiliser and loads more water.

29 Oct 2019 - the very dry season is taking a toll - it's not exactly flush with flowers, although I am glad to see more open up.

2 Nov 2019 - the first white one -

Getting rid of the agaves

I decided to move the large agaves on, and grow succulents and a tall hedge along the side instead., I hate the neighbours being able to see over as I am working in the garden. Selling these for free on Facebook Marketplace, and they went within half an hour! Great.

Jill from the Dept of Ed ('gym-garden') gave these to me, so I am happy to gift them onwards. I kept a small pup. I still have some in the front garden, under the red robins.

It rained yesterday afternoon!

A 20 minute downpour - and today they predict an afternoon/evening storm! Wonderful for the garden.
I will be mowing today to make way for the new growth about to spurt out of the ground!

Rosellas on the verge

Poor birdies. They must be so hungry. These wild birds almost never come near civilisation, and here they are, in the midst of a busy road, feeding on what scraps they can get on the side of the road. The traffic does not deter them. The drought must really be affecting them.

I must put out more food for them, in my garden.

What are these plants? POTATOES!

Heaps of them in the compost, growing fast.

I asked on the Ipswich Gardener's Facebook page, and they are potatoes!!
How on earth do I know when they're ready?!

I haven't sewn any potatoes with eyes, so all I can think is that they have come from some of Mum's compost peelings!

10 Oct 2019 - Ladybirds in the patch!

Newest fishtail palm leaf

Ooo she is grand!

7 Oct, 2019 -  I still wonder at her, and think she is beautiful -

Air drying tomatoes

Not home grown - bought these at a local veggie shop. Mum wanted some dried so here they go.
