Verandah beams happening

The supports for the lattice on front verandah. Finally. FINALLY. On the last day of the year - 31 Dec. New Year's Eve.

\Work done by Chris Price of Riverview.
He's slow, and quiet, and his personal hygiene is not great, but he's cheap and does a good job.

His 'invoice' - as recorded by me and he, after all was done on 30 Dec.

and...ta-da!

We're getting there. I've yet to make it feel as comfortable, and private, as this...

The Red Robins (inside fence view) + Updates

Update: 23 April, 2017 - The pink coral is reaching far now, and the white plumbago has grown.

I just need the white plumbago, and (espaliered) bougainvillea to fill the fence area on the right of the red robins.

Update 26 Sept, 2017:

There red robins are looking good, tall and strong, and spreading. It's 9 months since the first shots at top of this post, and we have had little rain. The pink coral is dry and shrivelled, though not completely. All plants are being sustained by my regular waterings.

Update 26 Nov 2017:

Some good growth since last April 2017!

Box batch delete!

Many of the cardboard boxes from my various storage/international moves, now junking up my yard have been seriously rained on from recent storms. I'm thinking they can still be recycled, and I hope Dubbs dumps them when he is here. He arrives today. It will be good to see him.

John's Garden - Plans #1

This is the plan for the way it will look in a while...

These photos come from a local Sunnybank garden, well known apparently, which used to be open for visits (but not any more). The guy is available for garden consults, so I might look into that one day.

No more like this....

I need to 'build' (grow) the canopy first, to provide the shade for the understory.

The bougainvillea HAS grown + update March 2018

How she looks March 6, 2018:

March 10, 2017 -

And this, Dec 2016......

from this thin effort, a few months ago....

She's beautiful, ain't she? Lovely pink colour :-)

Change, and growth, DOES happen!

New vignettes

Just a few postings from around the house. If you saw the mess of the place, in reality, you'd see I am trying to put a good spin on a tough situation!
