Missing my shade

I made a mistake when I had the poinciana lopped. I should have waited till winter, as the lack of shade over that end room of the house - the living room - is appalling. The heat from our intense summer days of at least 30C every day, and often much more (up to 38 so far), makes that room insufferable to sit in. I am having air con installed in early Feb, but still, I think the little machines will find it a struggle to cope with the intense heat. I am also getting a new roof in March, with extra insulation, so that might help, while I wait for the tree to grow baqck. I noticed yesterday that there is a tiny little sprig of new growth on one of the exposed upper limbs. I hope this grows and begins the regrowth process. Poor tree.

The mulberry tree has sprung new shoots, so that is reassuring.
