Progress on the unit
The thing is rising, and so are interest rates. I have to get someone in there sooner, rather than later, to help pay for it.
Mum, weeding
Lovely pick of her. This woman was married for over 50 years, has raised four children, and is now a vulnerable 90 yr old. I love her, and worry about a future for me without her in it.

Clearing the site
I laboured this afternoon to clear the site at the back, ready for the construction of the tiny.
Removed the side of the hedge, whip-snipped debris and grass around the area, moved a compost bin (both will need to be repositioned), and took out the frangi for relocation.

Rod delivers the goods
Finally, the first bits of the tiny unit (for Nigel) have arrived.
Rob brought them in today.
The red corner on the ground off to the left is where the front right corner of the unit is planned. I went out this morning to paint/indicate where I wanted the unit to be, so as to allow for a little courtyard at the back and paths all around.
The white line is the limit of where the deck and lattice are to extend. That's as close as I want them to the main house.
The long steel beams at top are the skids under the frame, yet to be positioned. Rod had to cut them to size.
Some supporting steel rods...
The composite bits for the shower, and a window.

More painting - getting along!
My intention is to paint all the front visible areas of cream lattice, so that it looks all white from the road. The internal sections can wait till later, when I have more time.
I also want to paint around the front security door that Frank put in.
It's a bit of a slog, but it goes on quite quickly.
