Screens for Mum

Mum's lately going on about wanting something to hide her electrical box and the front hose.

So, I saw these at Bunnings for sale and got them for her. Nice colours and they can be painted to suit. I do like the gum leaf design. Now all we need is a handyman to build a frame to put them up.

Update: I had them delivered on Sat 15 July, and Mum approved of them!

Girls on the car

Every morning I wipe the car down, to reduce moisture damage to the duco.

The girls love to sit up there and survey their terrain! (7.30 am) Ignore the inglorious telegraph pole.

The chookies get alarmed when the girls are about - Tiina chases them!

Mum and John come to lunch

The first 'formal' lunch at my place. Lovely.

Made a quiche and salad, using veggies from the garden, plus fruit salad and yoghurt for dessert, with a bottle of Gossips Sweet Lips white.

We toured my garden, and sat in the sun on the verandah for a while.

New sofa - delivered today - and styling

'New' sofa delivered - looks good but there is still some decorating to be done.

Finished up with this today, but I know it will change again! 

For one thing, Tiina promptly climbed up and knocked off the lovely green bottle....little beast. It's in a million tiny pieces.

Coloured roses and new flowers

Our team went to lunch at Cafe 63 in East Brisbane yesterday, before the new term officially started.
They were selling these roses - apparently colored by dyes as they grow. Not sure I believe that, but they were certainly pretty.

Bought these today - fake but good quality, and fab for morale!

First winter walk round the block

Decided to get moving again this morning. Took a few photos. Was gratified to find that I did become warm, and I had no breath difficulties at all - could keep going at a good pace, after so much inactivity. Maybe it's the stairs at work that are good for us!
