Elephant ears

I think this is what this plant is. I will keep it here for a while to get it established and growing, then perhaps put it in a pot.

15 June, 2019 - New leaf coming-

8 August, 2019 - 4th leaf

10 Sept, 2019 -  I've been giving it huge amounts of water and that seems to have sparked some new growth.

21 Sept 2019 -

5 Oct 2019 -  She is looking great so far, with plenty of watering!

20 Nov 2019 -  Recent growth has been pleasing -

26 Nov 2019 - big leaves -

Gingers planted

Since I saw the profusion of gingers at Bunnings some months ago (see fotos below), I just HAD to buy a couple which were on sale.

I bought a lovely pink and a white.

This one is an unknown variety, bought at Salvos shop.

I watered them quite liberally after planting them today, so I do hope they flourish.

5 Oct 2019 - The Salvos ginger is doing well -

11 April 2020 - Look at her now!

These are the beautiful ones I saw at Bunnings:

29 Feb 2020 - Salvos ginger doing well. I love her variegated leaves. The pink one died :-(

Queen Bed

I'm buying this bed.

I sold some floor tiles recently, for $100, so I am glad about that. They were bothering me for some time and finally - gone!

The NBN arrives

Today the guy came to install. He did a good job, and so far, it seems very fast. Apparently, I have 'fibre to the curb', which is the best connection to have, he said.

Winter nights

We've had two nights of 9C - quite cold for us lately. The girls have not been silly, they have cuddled up on my bed! I love it.

Recently, they brought me a very special gift. Hmmm..

17 June 2019 - They're still at it!

They're almost touching!

Book tree and tall pink bougainvillea heads. Lovely! Gorgeous day too.

Japanese Maple tree

I'm putting this in the front also. I think it will be fine during the winter and next Spring. I will have to worry about it during the heat of summer. Perhaps I can rig up a cover of some sort.

31 Aug  -  I managed to capture a little sprig growing off the side of the main trunk. I snipped it off so the nutrition could go t the main plant. I've put this into water - great if it shoots!

It's an ACER PALMATUM KATSURA variety.
