The Plant Shack, Deception Bay

At Clover's birthday party last weekend, Peta had a couple of lovely 'lady head' pots for plants. I would like one. She said she had purchased it at The Plant Shack, in Deception Bay.

I drove up there after I had collected the bird cage, and loved what I saw there. Plants were reasonably priced, and a good variety that I have found hard to get at Bunnings.

I bought a chain of hearts hanger; a mini-syngonium;  a large-leafed  and a lovely china plant pot. Total: $61 (too much, but I couldn't resist).

Good idea with the variegated ficus I have still, in the new pot I bought from there, with the pink and green 'passionfruit flower design' on it, rather than a pot with a head or face on it. 

Going to do this (like the below) with my new mini-syngonium and the ficus, in the new pot.

Bug hotels - want one of these for the front garden, and the veggie area.

Update: 15 May - I drove up there to Kippa Ring in the morning, got there about 9.20am. The weird little guy Rob met me and opened his packed storage shed. He got the cage out, and I realised how big it was. Nice, though. I realised too that it's time to stop buying little things and concentrate on bigger housey items now, like painting, awnings, roof etc.

I got out of there fast, as I did not want to be stuck in a storage area with some weird little guy. I did not know him, his strength or intentions.

From THIS lighting site, there are many examples of light shades which look like bird cages, like mine, mounted as room lighting.

All of these are quite expensive - I got out of it cheaply at 45, but of course, yet to come is the light fixture, and the wiring up and conversion. Hopefully that is still nowhere near the price of these.

Menopause

It's exactly a year since I had my last period, of sorts. I think it's been longer than that since I was regular. So, I'm into menopause. The hot-flushes told me so!

I'm going to ask the doc for HRT patches, to see if the flushes can be lessened, and hopefully, I'll feel a bit less distressed all the time.

Jade bonsai

Maybe I can make one of these...

\I have a cutting of this type of jade. Will have to read up how to manipulate the roots and the pot and the shape, etc.
