Star jasmine

Agapanthus seeds

Tiny little black things. Who would have thought they contain all the genetic material for such a large and lovely flower?!

Something is burning my grape vines

According to info HERE, my soil is lacking in particular nutrients. That's why I'd love to have my soil analysed to see what is missing and how to remedy this.

I thought it was just the fence heating up and radiating too much heat for the vine to handle, but apparently no, something is missing from the soil. Tsk.

I clipped back the bougainvillea, plus update

From long sprigs to something more akin to 'espalier'-ing it to the fence. I wonder if bougainvilleas will work this way?

Update 20 March 2016:

This bougy seems to like sending up long tracts. I'm just lopping off the ones which grow on the 'wrong' angle. Trying to keep it all lined up with the fence. There has definitely been growth - it's becoming bushier and looks healthy. New leaves have a pretty pink blush around their edges. Gave it some blood and bone this weekend.

Update 15 October, 2016:

Look how well she's doing now! I have seen them clipped like a hedge, so will probably do this for this pretty baby.

Morning views #2

I do love me a big blue sky, but there seems to be a ridiculous number of power poles around here!

Ye flame tree makes a move

This tree has done nothing but sit there, as is, since I bought it, months ago. I finally decided to pot it in the big red pot I brought with me from Viet and lo! I think there is some movement - small green shoots of new leaves.

I hope so, though what is next in terms of shape or height, I have no idea about these trees. They are beautiful when they are grown though.

Bleeding Heart plant

Almost ready to bloom - there's just a hint of the pretty red flower. I really do need to put it in its own pot.
