Murrayas in pots

I managed to get them into pots today (5 Dec), along with the oleanders that I struck.
Hopefully all will go crazy and I will have nice topiary shaped plants in pots like the Mark Sikes thing.

Vietnamese Dragons

Saw these on the weekend at Bunnings and could not wait to go get some. They are ironstone, made in Vietnam!

Got them home and trying to find a place for them - thought they looked good in front of the house:

But then I became nervous that they might be stolen, until I get a higher fence, so I put them each behind a lavender and azalea bed. That way I can still see them outside.

Mad mowing day

It was supposed to rain and thunderstorm today, but nothing happened. I mowed the most public lawns and it was exhausting in the mugginess. I even caught a touch of sunburn. Managed to get it all done by the end of the day, and get the new murrayas in plastic terracotta pots I got from The Reject Shop.
When the new pergola and side bit goes in, I want to create something like Mark Sikes's stairway, like this:

It will take a while, but that will give the plants time to grow, and for me to shape them.

So here's the front garden after all the work today. I watched a golden sunset, and it looked beautiful in the glow. Later, I trimmed those top 'legs' off the bougainvillea.

I had felt sick earlier in the day with all the effort (turns out I had sunstroke, from the heat), but I am not aching this evening and I feel pretty good about it all.

Can it look like this? Utilities walk + updates

Leading to this...

14 August 2020 -  it's coming along slowly. All will be better when the garage is built and the junk can go into it (but not the kitties!).
