Relocated the flame tree + update

From the red pot, to a garden bed out front. I think it looks good here at the moment. It rained hard for a few hours during the night, so I rose early to make the most of the softer, rain-soaked soil for digging!

Update: 1 Jan 2018

There is new growth at the top of the tree, whilst all the other leaves begin to fall off. I'm debating whether to ct off the two side limbs to encourage a 'straight-up' growth, but I'm also cautious, preferring to let it do it's own thing.

House today 19 Dec 2017

Compare with Dec 23, 2016 - there has been growth indeed! Although the house needs work done, still.

Little bit festive. Not going to too much trouble this year.

John's Jungle #5

Finally had the whipper-snipper fixed (new head, spring, Griffiths Mowers, $34), and started on sorting out who's boss in the side garden this morning.

Saw him in Spotlight - had to have him!

I'm sure that antler has a life of it's own!

Hello Chinese money plant

Pilea peperomioides, known as Chinese money plant, pancake plant, lefse plant, or missionary plant, is a species of flowering plants in the family Urticaceae, native to Yunnan Province in southern China.

Bought for a song at a recent garden party, I'm working hard on keeping it alive!
