2 April, 2019 - This one has grown and spread a lot this year.

13 July, 2019 - It seems to be going great guns now. I can see progress in the young new reddish leaves. I've fed it two lots of diluted Seasol this week, so I hope that does it good, seeing as the soil here is so depleted on its own.

25 Sept, 2019 -  almost covered the 'Pool' sign now! (plus, new season's grapevine shoots!)

Quite the kitty + updates

Tems is becoming more likeable - she is playing outside although still annoying the others when inside. I have to rescue them from her at times.

Flame tree now self-supporting

At first, after transplanting the flame tree, the 3 top stalks would not support themselves, and I tethered them to each other with an elastic cord.

 I noticed this morning that they were standing by themselves, with no support. Progress and growth has occurred!

29 Nov 2018:

I came home from work yesterday, at around 7.30 to see that the fierce wind had caused the tree to lean to one side, with one side of the roots exposed.

I went out in the dark (the sensor light was on, and that was enough to see by) to double-stake the tree and so secure it.

White crepe myrtle buds! + updates

The last time this flowered was earlier this year (Jan 5), and lo today we have a bud again. I love this plant, and it has gradually grown in size over the 3 years I have had it.

So, let's hope the flowering is good this year - I have tried to keep it watered, but the drought no doubt has had an effect.

The bud is almost imperceptible...but hopefully, it is a harbinger of what is to come...

Update 16 Nov 2018: She's looking very healthy at the moment, and much larger this year, with all her leaves and 'dressing'!

23 Nov 2018: And here she is, with new buds, about to flower. Such a pretty tree.

2 Dec 2018: We have flowers! Welcome, Ms Myrtle. I've missed you.

15 Dec 2018 - she is beautiful, and getting so tall.

2 January 2019: Look at this beautiful girl, in full bloom!

Mum told me about 'the onion man' in Laidley, who apparently, predicts the weather with a good amount of accuracy.

I painted Mum's front fence

Mum had the palings at the front of her place replaced. They were a reddish colour, made of some rubber-wood stuff. She wanted them painted a green 'forest' colour, so I did it on the Sunday afternoon. It took about 4 hours, and by the end I was at the end of my tether and so tired.

That was just the first coat!

I painted this large wall too!

The gang's all here

All four kitties on da bed this morning. Baby Tems is behaving a little better. I think she will have to be an outside cat, so that she is exhausted and quiet when coming inside in the evenings. She seems to like playing with Tutti, but T has enough of her eventually, growls and runs away.
